T-minus 7 days?: The deafening silence

For those of you playing at home, we should have received word of a spectacular Mac-centric Apple event in Cupertino sometime around 1 p.m. EST today. So what happened? NOTHING!

Not good news if you are still clinging to your dead weight Dell, lousy excuse for a computer. So when are the Macs coming? Honestly, I don’t know. I just don’t know!

Some dick on Mac Soda, the ill-fated wannabe rumor site that predicted media invites would be sent today, says that he knew invites would not be sent, but that the event would happen “in the coming weeks.” Another supposed insider said, “The new laptops will be announced one week after the 14th (the 21st), but they will not be released until the friday after (oct. 24th).”

Is he right? If he is, I think I might need to stop holding my breath, because I’m getting dizzy and kind of blue. NOVEMBER?! Are we going to elect a president before I get to have a furry, new MacBook?! Sure, what, Oct. 24th is only 17 days away, I can wait it out, right? Um, yeah, I guess, but it sucks BALLS. I totally wanted to play the savings account transfer game next Tuesday and give Apple lots of money. I guess I get 10 more days of interest. YIPPIE!

OK, am I the only one hoping invites go out tomorrow for the 15th? Maybe Apple releases them the 14th and says, “Screw you press, you’re not invited!”

I know, I know, I’ll stop. Isn’t there a debate tonight anyways?

  1. You don’t get it. The Mac Soda guy didn’t try to trick people… he made a mistake based on faulty info that an anonymous source gave him. Cut him some slack…

  2. Maybe I’m being a bit harsh if you think I’m criticizing Mac Soda for blogging about the press invite. I actually don’t so much blame Mac Soda for the faux story as I am criticizing those anonymous commenters who somehow know the press invites will be sent out next week. At least Mac Soda has the courage goes on the record.
